Meanwhile, Lucas' wife is a freelance writer. It is unknown how the couple met, but they attended an "eco retreat" in Big Sur, Calif., together when Lucas realized he wanted to marry Henriquez in a television appearance.

After the couple became engaged, Lucas appeared on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and shared the news in January. He recounted the special moment with Henriquez after a dangerous situation with a mountain lion.

Lucas, a YouthAIDS Ambassador, has stated that HIV/AIDS prevention is particularly important to him because his mother "has made a career counseling young men and women with the hopes of educating them about the ravaging and often deadly effects of this too common and easily preventable disease," according to YouthAIDS.org.

Additionally, the actor is a Barack Obama supporter and a self-proclaimed NFL fan.

He has appeared in the off-Broadway run of "Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell" and is the owner and promoter of the company Filthy Food, along with friends Marc and Daniel Singer.
