Kanye West Says Kim Kardashian is the Modern Day Marilyn Monroe

Kanye West insists that his fiance and reality television star Kim Kardashian is a modern-day Marilyn Monroe.

Monroe, a 1950s actress, singer and model is much like Kardashian because of their controversial notoriety, the 36-year-old rap mogul insisted while on the New York City morning radio show "The Breakfast Club" recently.

"I have a love-hate relationship with the paparazzi but actually I love them because they are empowering us. They are empowering us over Graydon Carter or Vanity Fair that wanna say Kate Upton is Marilyn Monroe," West said on Power 105.1 FM's "The Breakfast Club." "Kate Upton ain't Marilyn Monroe, Kim is Marilyn Monroe, you know that."

West has publicly defended his future wife and the mother of his daughter multiple times in the public eye, insisting that she is even more influential than First Lady Michelle Obama.

"No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing," West said on host Ryan Seacrest's radio show last month. "Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day."

He went on to speak about his future wife's influence.

"There's no way Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue. She's like the most intriguing woman right now," West told Seacrest. "She's got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday. And collectively, we're the most influential with clothing."

West previously explained why he believes his reality television star fiance Kim Kardashian is famous.

"People used to be like, 'What is she talented for?' She is talented at being beautiful," West revealed on Big Boy's Neighborhood on Los Angeles' Power 106. "If you go to a club and it's a bunch of beautiful girls you may say it's a bunch of talent in here."
