Kardashian Curse? Will Kanye West Follow Reggie Bush, Kris Humphries and Lamar Odom (VIDEO)

A so-called "Kardashian curse" is being touted by online media publication The Huffington Post, claiming that a number of the men associated with the Kardashians have experienced a plunge in popularity after becoming connected to the family.

It was only recently that Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West announced that she was pregnant and that they were expecting a baby together later this year. The announcement has sparked a huge wave of publicity concerning the couple as well as the reality TV family, the Kardashians.

However, not all the media attention has been good, with the Huff Post highlighting how the appeal and marketability ratings of Reggie Bush, Kris Humphries and Lamar Odom have plummeted following their connections with the Kardashian family.

The publication highlights the "N-Score" of the three men, which it describes as "an algorithm that assesses an athlete's popularity." It claims that the N-Scores were discussed with SVP of Sports for Nielsen Stephen Master, and says that the three sports stars who each dated a Kardashian sister at some point in the past experienced a "dramatic plunge in the public's perception of them," the Huffington Post has reported.

It labels the phenomenon the "Kardashian Curse."

Master said, "Between Lamar Odom, Reggie Bush and Kris Humphries, those guys have all had their N-Score hurt, and it isn't because of their awareness. Their awareness has actually shot up, in every case, but their negative appeal has also shot up. You need to do well, and you also need to date someone who people like. The Kardashians are controversial. They have really negatively impacted the marketability of [Odom, Bush and Humphries]."

According to the statistics promoted by the Huff Post, Reggie Bush's negative appeal was minimal until 2007, which is when he started dating Kim Kardashian. However, his unpopularity rose even more when he broke up with her for the final time.

Kris Humphries married Kim Kardashian in August 2011, remaining together for just 72 days before they split. After his relationship with Kardashian Humphries was labeled the "NBA's Most Disliked Player" by Forbes magazine. In May 2011 his N Score was 87 percent, but that plummeted to just 46 percent nine months later.

Lamar Odom is married to Kim's sister Khloe Kardashian. The Huff Post points out that his likability has fluctuated a lot in the time he has been together with the Kardashian, but highlights that his career has staggered, departing the Dallas Mavericks and having a very public struggle to conceive children.
