Kate Middleton Welcomes Prince William Home From Falklands

Prince William has completed his tour of duty in the Falkland Islands and will be reunited with his wife, the former Kate Middleton, in London today.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been separated for over six weeks following his Feb. 1 deployment. William will be on leave from his Royal Air Force search and rescue pilot duties "for a few days," according to a spokeswoman for Clarence House.

"Prince William arrived back in Britain this morning at the end of his deployment in the Falkland Islands as a part of a four-man search and rescue crew," said the spokeswoman to U.K.'s Daily Mail.

"He is not going to be on a brief period of leave before resuming his duties at RAF Valley in Anglesey," she added.

According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, the Duke of Cambridge's tour was a "routine deployment."

While William was away, the Duchess of Cambridge admitted that she missed her husband "terribly" during their time apart.

"I've got a dog that's keeping me occupied," said Kate at the time. "I'm getting a lot of 'me time' with the dog."

The Duke and Duchess share a cocker spaniel named Lupo, which means "wolf" in Latin.

Kate also spent her first Valentine's Day as a married woman alone, although the Duke reportedly sent flowers.

The Duchess participated in many official engagements solo while William was away. The 30-year-old joined her famous in-laws at the launch of the Diamond Jubilee tour as well as several public appearances at charity, sports, and arts centers in London in the past weeks.

Additionally, Kate marked another milestone as she delivered her first public address as the Duchess of Cambridge earlier this week. While visiting The Treehouse children's hospice Monday, Kate called the hospice's work "inspirational" and a "shining example."

The royal couple will celebrate their one-year anniversary on April 29.
