Tom Cruise's ex-wife founded the line in 2009 with her stylist, Jeanne Yang, who will also be present to debut the collection. The line has seen a rise in sales following Holmes' split from Cruise last month.

"This is a big deal for Katie to show in tents, under the full attention of the fashion editors and the glare of the media scrutiny," a source close to Holmes told The New York Post. "They could have done a small show elsewhere, so this proves she and Jeanne are very serious about their business."

Holmes & Yang will display their clothes alongside top designers including Victoria Beckham, who is a friend of Holmes'. Both will debut their spring and summer 2013 collections on Sept. 9.

"Every editor will be at the spring 2013 Holmes & Yang showing this September," noted Emmy Award-winning stylist David Zyla to Daily Markets. "Katie's divorce and the masterful manner in which she handled it is a shining light onto anything that she does at this moment."

While this is the first New York fashion week for the line, Holmes & Yang is sold at Barney's New York.

Alternately, Beckham's two lines, Victoria Beckham and Victoria Victoria Beckham, have already established themselves in the fashion industry with critical acclaim. The singer-turned-designer has also earned praise from fashion moguls including Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld, and took home the prestigious British Fashion Award.
