Kelly Osbourne has explained the reason she dyed her hair gray; she is simply fulfilling a dream.
While appearing on her mother's talk show "The Talk," she discussed her decision to go gray at 27. "It's something I've wanted to do my whole life. I've always wanted to be young and have gray hair. To me, I'm 27, I've got three years left, the way I look at it, to have fun with it because once you're 30, you look like a right idiot walking around with like rainbow bright color hair."
"I don't exactly come from the most normal family. I don't get why anyone expects anything different from me. So I think, for me, I'm just having fun with it as much as I can until it's not appropriate anymore," Osbourne added.
The star has always caused quite a stir, changing her appearance from dark and gothic to feminine with a touch of gray. She was a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars," which inspired her to work out and lose weight. After the show finished, she famously appeared on the cover of Shape magazine to debut her new body and talk about her struggle with weight and self-acceptance.
"I was called fat and ugly in the press almost my entire life. I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me. I just hated myself."
In 2009, Osbourne sought treatment for an addiction to Vicodin and has been sober ever since. However, as she described it, she replaced drugs with food and quickly gained weight. "Dancing with the Stars," provided a revelation she says she needed. "Then I started losing weight and realized, 'Oh it's true what they say: diet and exercise really work!'"
Osbourne currently guest-stars on mom Sharon's show and will appear as a judge on "Project Runway All Stars" later this season.
