NRB is an Association of Christian communicators that assists its members in proclaiming the Good News of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ; transforming the culture through the application o sound biblical teaching; and preserving religious freedom by keeping the doors of electronic media open for the spread of the Gospel.

“In all ways, Truths That Transform exemplifies the criteria and high standards for this award,” stated NRB President Dr. Frank Wright in a letter.

He praised the radio broadcast program for “presenting the Gospel with clarity, relevance for the listener, and sound doctrinal teaching expressed in a creative way”.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the radio broadcast has gained attention of the 1,700-member NRB.

“Truths That Transform is honored for its service to the community, faithfulness to the mission, and commitment to the Gospel,” said Dr. Frank Wright, who along with NRB Chairman/CEO Glenn Plummer presented the award to Tom Rogeberg, Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Coral Ridge Ministries, and to Chuck Burge, Executive Producer of Truths That Transform.

“I am humbled by this and grateful to God for this honor,” said Dr. Kennedy. “It is always gratifying to know that your work has been appreciated by your peers.”

Last year during the NRB annual convention, The Coral Ridge Hour, Dr. Kennedy’s weekly television program, was named “Television Program of the Year”.

Instead of looking at these awards as his own achievement, Dr. Kennedy returns the gratitude to God.

“By the grace of God, these awards are recognition of the effort to have ‘Excellence in all things and all things to God’s glory,’” Dr. Kennedy said, referring to the motto inscribed on the outer wall of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. “Truly, it is His doing and it is glorious in our eyes. Soli Deo Gloria—solely to the glory of God.”

Over 6,000 people attended the 2004 convention, which included job fairs, boot camps for radio or leadership organizations, and a special pre-screening of Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ”. It was also the first NRB convention where all of the general sessions and five educational sessions were translated into Spanish.

Next year, NRB will host its annual convention in Anaheim, CA, February 11- 15.
