Keyshia Cole Receives Backlash for Michelle Williams Super Bowl Critique

Keyshia Cole, a singer-songwriter, drew the ire of a number of people after she spoke out against Michelle Williams, who performed alongside Beyonce Knowles at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.

While Knowles brought Destiny's Child members Williams and Kelly Rowland to join her for a short medley of the group's songs on the big stage, Cole tweeted her disapproval of one of the performers.

"I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my (expletive) up from my daze," Cole exclaimed to over 200,000 followers on the social networking website. "She's always (expletive) the groove up."

Although Cole managed to give Knowles credit for her portion of the performance, a number of people sounded off on the singer for critiquing Williams. One person recalled a particular song that Cole performed in an underwhelming manner.

"You! of all people! How about your 'Eye is on the sparrow' rendition," one person tweeted.

Another person agreed with those sentiments, saying, "that's probably what Michelle thought when she heard 'Eyes On The Sparrow.'"

Yet another person chastised Cole for speaking out against Williams and doubted that she would ever have the same opportunity to perform during a Super Bowl halftime show.

" ... And when was the last time you performed at the Super Bowl?" the person questioned.

Things seemed to take a turn for the worse when Cole posted a photograph of herself laughing with the caption, "You Mad?" an hour after posting her initial comments.

One person responded by questioning, "What were your first week sales again? oh ok."

While some people supported the R&B singer by saying, "I love you," others defended her.

"Ignore the haters, why should you have to explain yourself to strangers? Just ignore the immaturity. You're better than that," one fan told Cole.
