Kim Kardashian Divorce: 'Humphries Family Making Kris Victim,' Says Reality Star

Kim Kardashian’s fleeting marriage to basketball player Kris Humphries may not have been entirely Kim’s fault. The reality star claims that the rudeness of the Humphries family is partially to blame, TMZ reported.

Kim told friends it was “ridiculous” that the Humphries family is “making Kris look like the victim,” and that he was envious of her business savvy and ambition.

The Humphries have been quoted saying divorce is a “mistake.” According to TMZ, Kris has stated to several people that he does not believe in divorce.

The 72-day marriage ended, apparently, over disagreements between the directions the couple would take in terms of their career and families. Kris told The New York Post that he intended for the nuptials to transform Kim into a woman who valued family and wanted to move to Minnesota to have children.

Kim responded to Kris’s notions of the traditional marriage by saying, “How am I going to have my career and live in Minnesota?”

The actress doesn’t entirely fault their miscommunication as the reason for the split, however.

The fact that the Humphries “belittled” her and were “nasty” to the Kardashians was reportedly captured on film, presumably during the taping of one of Kim’s reality shows.

Kim claims that Kris’s assertions of a loving and supportive family are completely false. His family’s disrespect was part of the pressure that caused the marriage to crumble, a TMZ source reported.

Surrounding the pending divorce is an assortment of rumors.

One of the most popular is that Kim and Kris made over $17 million in profits from the wedding. The Post reported that the E! News two-part special, “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,” was expected to make $12 to $15 million alone.

People Magazine received exclusive photography rights for a hefty $2.5 million.

Despite these claims, the Kardashians maintain that the power couple lost money on the wedding and did not profit in anyway.

If Kim and Kris did receive the alleged millions from the event, it could mean the wedding was simply a publicity stunt to boost both stars, and of course, Kim’s various fragrances, books, and reality shows.

Regardless of the motives for the pair’s brief marriage and public divorce, Kris says he still loves Kim and wants to be married to her. “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce,” he told People Magazine, “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
