Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Raising a Biracial Child

Kim Kardashian is preparing to bring a bi-racial child into the world and recently spoke up about her plans to do so.

Kardashian, 32, is expecting her first child with 35-year-old rapper boyfriend Kanye West next July. She recently spoke about what she feels is the most important aspect of raising her child, who will be of both Armenian and African American decent.

"I have a lot of friends who are of all different nationalities and their children are bi-racial so they've talked to me a little bit about it and what to expect," Kardashian told BET recently. "The most important thing is, the way I want to raise my children is to not see color."

Still, Kardashian admitted that she probably will not have a full idea about how to handle her child until his or her arrival.

"There are experiences that you won't really know how to prepare for until you really go through it but raising a child in general is challenging. As long as you are open-minded and don't have any preconceived ideas of how you are going to raise your children, it really keeps this broad spectrum," Kardashian told BET. "Obviously, you want your child to travel the world and experience different races and different cultures everywhere. So that's really important to me."

Kardashian opened up about West's decision to announce her pregnancy in front of fans at his Atlantic City concert before the new year started. While Kardashian told MSNBC Today show host Savannah Guthrie that she did not anticipate her boyfriend's public announcement, she explained that West is not afraid to act based off of his feelings.

"He just kind of says what he feels," Kardashian told Guthrie earlier this year. "Once you're past the three-month mark, you're pretty safe, so he just kind of goes off with what he feels and he was feeling it that night."
