Kim's 43 Lb Loss: Criticism 'Chipped Away at My Soul,' Says Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is revealing that she faced several challenges regarding her weight in the months after giving birth and revealed how much the criticism affected her.

"Losing this weight has not been easy, but I did it, and that's so rewarding, I was dedicated and motivated, and for me, that paid off," Kardashian told People magazine. "This makes me feel like I have the strength to take on other challenges."

The constant remarks about her weight started to weigh on the reality starlet, whose image is the basis of her empire. Kardashian even reveals that the criticism took a deep, emotional toll after a while.

"Every day I would hear people criticize me, and it would affect me … Little by little it would chip away at my soul. I wanted to tune out the media and my public life and ignore it all," she added.

At one point Kardashian even considered plastic surgery to remove the weight.

Soon after Kim gave birth to daughter North West, she had allegedly planned to have a tummy tuck procedure completed to help with her post-baby body, a source told Radar Online.

"Kim was certain that she wanted to have surgery after giving birth because she wanted a head start on losing her baby weight," the source explained.

"Kanye told Kim in no uncertain terms that she needed to put her baby and her life first," the insider revealed. "He got pretty emotional because he really didn't want her going through that kind of major surgery. He's still traumatized from his mom's death."

West's mom, Donda, died in 2007 at the age of 58 after suffering "multiple post-operative factors" following a liposuction and breast-reduction surgery.

"Kanye was devastated by her passing and it's made him extremely protective of those he loves," the source explained. "He really put his foot down and told Kim the surgery ban is a condition of being with him."
