Kordell Stewart is finally opening up about the dating rumors surrounding he and Towanda Braxton.

Stewart, the 41-year-old ex-NFL star, has been linked to 40-year-old Braxton for weeks. While she has yet to confirm or deny their relationship during her recent interviews, Stewart is ready to refute rumors.

"Towanda Braxton is a very nice lady," Stewart said during a recent interview on the Tom Joyner radio show. "I had the opportunity to meet her and no, we're not dating."

Stewart officially divorced from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Porsha Williams late last year. While Williams has spent a great deal of time on her show speaking about her ex-husband's alleged controlling ways, Braxton recently defended him when questioned about dating rumors.

"What I'm saying is this…you don't know exactly what happened. I don't know what actually happened in their marriage, you know so that was just the one side of the situation," Braxton said on Bethenny. "He wasn't on the show, she was on the show. She was telling her side of the situation."

Still, Braxton said she is not allowing what is said about Stewart on the show to impact her decisions about him.

"I don't know, I don't care," she insisted on Bethenny. "He's just a really nice guy to me and he's a great dad and quite often people don't understand that when you put everything tumultuously like that on television, it affects the children. "

After being questioned about a potential love connection between Braxton and Stewart, who have been pictured together publicly recently, Williams seemed supportive of the relationship.

"I think that's great! I love Towanda," Williams said on Bravo TV's "Watch What Happens Live" previously. "I watch [her] show and if that works for him, then I'm happy."

Braxton seemed to appreciate Williams' kind words.

"I thought that was sweet," she has said on The New York City morning radio show "The Breakfast Club." "We should have tea."
