The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer and opens in the U.S. on November 21.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were reportedly spotted holding hands on Thursday, new reports claim.

The "Twilight" stars, who dated on-and-off for four years, reportedly ended their relationship in May shortly after Pattinson celebrated his 27th birthday on the 13th. The British actor was also photographed transporting belongings out of Stewart's Los Feliz mansion which fueled split rumors, however various sources claim to have seen the pair together in recent days.

"Spotted: Kristen and Robert walking down the street in echo park. Somebody call an ambulance because I think I just had a heart attack. [They] were holding hands... Looked very together and in sunglasses! I know it was them...They left separately- so rob was probably going to return to his interviews!" Twitter user Jane Misserati wrote in a series of tweets, according to

Pattinson, who was recently announced as the the new face of Christian Dior's Dior Homme fragrance, attended a press junket for the designer that same day which critics suspect Misserati was referring to.

"Rob & Kristen were just spotted out and about by a worker at Starbucks on PCH going towards Malibu," another fan using the Twitter handle, @reinlegarde, wrote.

Other unnamed sources described the on-and-off pair as being in good spirits with a source claiming that Pattinson was "protective" over Stewart, 23, E! News reported.

It is still unclear why exactly Pattinson and Stewart split however critics believe their relationship woes stemmed from the actress' 2012 cheating scandal. In July, Stewart was photographed intimately embracing her married "Snow White and The Huntsman" film director, Rupert Sanders, and although she publicly apologized to Pattinson for the tryst, the actor ultimately had difficulty trusting her after the scandal.

"Kristen wanted to go straight back to where they'd been before they first split up [in July 2012] and pushed Rob really hard on it," a source told OK! magazine.

"She wanted the whole package: the house, the wedding and even the baby. It was all way too much for Rob to handle," the source added.
