Kristen Stewart Sad Robert Pattinson Starting New Life Without Her, Blames Self for Cheating?

Kristen Stewart reportedly blames herself for her split from Robert Pattinson and a report claims the actress is sad that he has distanced himself in an attempt to move on with his life.

The "Twilight" stars ended their four-year relationship in May due to recurring trust issues stemming from Stewart's 2012 affair with a married man. Pattinson, 27, reportedly struggled with the breakup initially, but is said to be determined to rebuild his new life without the "Camp X Ray" star, 23, and she is reportedly devastated by the news.

"It's Rob who has distanced himself from Kristen. He rarely hangs out in the same area as Kristen and her friends. It's just easier for him this way," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

"He's kind of had to start a new life with new friends. Kristen still has her old friends. Of course Kristen has some regrets — she feels like she and Rob would be still be together if she had never cheated on him with Rupert," the source revealed. "She misses their friendship the most. He was the one person who really got her, who really understood her."

In July 2012, Stewart, who admitted she cheated with her married "Snow White and The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, expressed her regrets about the affair in a public apology to Pattinson. As a result of Stewart's tryst with the father-of-two, two relationships were broken.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," Stewart wrote in a statement.

"This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," she added.

The on-and-off couple, who first began dating in 2008 after meeting on the set of "Twilight," reunited for the first time since their split on Aug. 3 and one insider revealed that this was very difficult for both Stewart and the British actor.

"He stopped by on the weekend and they both spent some time together, catching up. Kristen was really happy to see him, but I think in the end they were both sad because they still have feelings for each other," a source said.

"It's not as simple as just getting back together. Seeing each other brought up a lot stuff for both of them. For now, work - not rebuilding a relationship - comes first. It's sad," the source added.
