Kutless releases first single to radio from new album

BEC Recordings band Kutless released a single from their second album to radio on November 7. The single, entitled “Treason”, talks about the treason we can commit against God and is the first single on album Sea of Faces, which will be available on February 24, 2004.

Kutless frontman Jon Micah Sumrall, who wrote the song, says, “The idea for this song came when I was thinking about this country. In light of the events in the past few years more than ever we are proud to be Americans. But if we say that we are proud to be Americans and that we would even die for this country but then turn around and do something that hurts this country, then it was considered treason. The ironic thing is that we do not see things the same way in our relationship with God. We say that we love God and would do anything for Him and even give our life for Him but then we turn around and do things that hurt him. This song simply asks why we don't call this treason, because that is essentially what we are doing through these actions.”

The song had early adds on various radio stations including WKLQ-Grand Rapids; WYSZ-Toledo; WSNL-Flint; WPRJ-Saginaw/Bay City; ZJAM-Syndicated; WITR-Rochester. Air1 also has been in support airing the song three days prior to the add date.
