Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night with the Lakers looking to bounce back after two straight defeats. The Nuggets will also be desperate to win, however, and they too have been stuttering in their form recently. The Lakers so far this season have continued to bounce back again and again only for them to drop back with poor form again. Starting the season with 1-4, they improved and fought back to 6-5. Things at that point looked like they had turned a corner and things would look up through the rest of the season.
However, they again lost themselves and fell back to 9-14 by mid-December. The Lakers rallied again and when they came back to .500 at 15-15 having gone on their best run of the season, many thought they would finally kick on and continue their good form.

But the Lakers have been unable to build on the good work of late December and have now fallen back to 15-17. Another loss today would signal a clear return to losing ways and they would again have a long way back just to get to .500.
In their past two games the Lakers have lost to Philadelphia 99-103, before a morale-sapping defeat to local rivals the LA Clippers 102-107.
Tonight they come up against the 19-16 Nuggets. Denver are another team that has been unable to find an extended run of form. Their season can be summed up through their last five results.
On Dec. 28 they won at Dallas 106-85, only to lose the following day in Memphis 72-81. They turned things back their way with a home win against the LA Clippers 92-78 on Jan. 1, only to lose again two days later 97-101 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In their last game managed to again turn things around and beat the Utah Jazz 110-91.
