LG G Pad 8.3 Review, Specs: Low Price, Strong Features Make This a Tablet to Seriously Consider

The LG G Pad 8.3 is the latest tablet released by LG marketed at a relatively low price. Interested users on the tablet market will be happy to find that this tablet has decent specs considering it is a low cost tablet. Its closest competitor is probably the Google Nexus 7.

The G Pad's 8.3-inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution is not bad for its size as the display still offers a sharp image quality. The overall size of the G Pad classifies it as a tablet but it doesn't feel too big on the hands. One can still hold the tablet with one hand with a little stretch of the fingers and palms.

The G Pad doesn't have a physical "home" button on its front like most tablets do but instead opts to use onscreen buttons. The tablet still has the volume buttons on its side, a Micro USB charging port at the bottom and a 3.5mm audio jack at the top end.

The G Pad only has a 16GB integrated memory but it can be expanded with a microSD card and supports up to 64GB.

The tablet's camera is not that impressive with only 5-megapixels and no flash. When it comes to picture taking, users might only get sharp indoor shots with adequate lighting. Outdoor shots might become overexposed if the environment is too bright but the camera nevertheless captures the colors quite accurately.

The G Pad runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.7GHz processor. The Snapdragon 600 is a far off bet from the newest Snapdragon 800 processors but it does the job for the G Pad. Applications run smoothly on the device and it has no trouble switching between apps. The tablet is also equipped with an Adreno 320 graphics processor that can run most 3D games with ease.

When it comes to price, the G Pad goes for around £200 currently. That means, overall, the G Pad is pretty impressive for its price if consumers are ready to overlook the camera.
