Lindsay Lohan Trashes Elizabeth Taylor's 'Cleopatra' Trailer?

Owner: 'Only a Psychotic and Rebellious Person' Would Cause $100,000 in Damages

The owner of actress Elizabeth Taylor's priceless 1963 "Cleopatra" trailer is claiming that Lindsay Lohan trashed the lavish living space while filming the Lifetime biopic "Liz and Dick" this past summer.

"Lindsay had nothing to do with it. It's an absurd story," Lohan's representative Steve Honig said in a statement to TMZ, defending the 26-year-old actress who has a botched record of theft.

Angel Alger, a big fan of Taylor's, purchased the trailer in June for $50,000 and agreed to loan it to the producers of "Liz and Dick".

Alger returned to the trailer after filming was complete to find it completely trashed, with cigarette burns on the plush carpet, broken dishes and glass, and even some antiques missing, including a vintage European rocking chair and a vintage French telephone.

Alger, who claims to have spent her entire life savings on the 38-foot trailer, told CNN that she estimates there is at least $100,000 in damages.

"I was specifically told that it would come back in pristine condition and in even better condition than it was at that time," Alger told CNN Thursday.

Alger told CNN that although she has no hard evidence that it was Lohan who trashed her trailer, she assumes so as the troubled actress had access to the piece of Hollywood memorabilia at all times.

Additionally, one employee working on-set of the film told Alger that he had seen Lohan and her friends return to the trailer many nights after filming was complete.

"Only a psychotic and rebellious person or people would steal irreplaceable museum belongings and leave it in this vandalized condition," Alger told CNN.

Fox studios created Elizabeth Taylor's "Cleopatra" trailer in 1963 in order to give the actress an environment which mirrored that of Cleopatra's, the queen whom Taylor played in the 1963 film.

The trailer came equipped with frescos of Ancient Egypt and antique furnishings.
