Marisa Tomei Engaged to Longtime Boyfriend?

Marisa Tomei and her boyfriend Logan Marshall Green got engaged over the holidays according to reports Friday.

It will be the first marriage for both of the actors. Tomei, 48, and her boyfriend Green, 36, have been dating on-and-off since 2008, according to the Daily Mail.

"He popped the question over the holidays," revealed a source close to the actress, reported InTouch magazine. "She is very happy about the engagement."

The engagement comes as a surprise since Tomei has admitted in the past that marriage holds no purpose for her.

"I'm not that big a fan of marriage as an institution," explained the actress to Manhattan Magazine in 2009. "I don't know why women need to have children to be seen as complete human beings."

Meanwhile, the Academy Award-winning actress is currently filming a romantic comedy alongside Hugh Grant. The film has not yet received a title.

Alternately, Green, best known for his role in the film "Prometheus," first met Tomei while they worked on a New York theatre project together, according to Hollywoodlife.com.

The actor is starring in the movie "As I Lay Dying" opposite James Franco, and he is slated to portray Tennessee Williams in the film "Lonely Hunter." Furthermore, Green is set to star in "I Fought the Law."

Tomei's breakthrough role arrived in 1992 with "My Cousin Vinny," which earned the actress critical acclaim as well as an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

The actress is also well known for her roles in films such as "What Women Want," "Anger Management," "Wild Hogs," and "Slums of Beverly Hills." Tomei received Academy Award nominations for her performances in both "In the Bedroom" and "The Wrestler."

In the past, Tomei has been romantically linked to Robert Downey Jr. and Lenny Kravitz.
