Mathew McConaughey and Camila Alves have welcomed a new baby boy into the world.

Just months after tying the knot, the "Magic Mike" star and his wife have welcomed their third child. The boy, named Livingston, was born on Friday in Austin, Texas. Original reports stated that Alves had given birth to a girl, McConaughey however has since corrected the report.

"Camila gave birth to our third child yesterday morning," the actor wrote on his WhoSay wall. "Our son, Livingston Alves McConaughey was born at 7:43am on 12.28.12. He greeted the world at 9lbs. and 21 inches."

McConaughey and Alves were married on June 10 during a summer ceremony, which some described as "very emotional."

"[The ceremony] was very emotional," one guest told Us Weekly after the wedding. "There was a moment when . . . [Matthew] leaned down and whispered something in [Camila's] ear and you could see a tear coming down her face. Everyone let out a collective sigh."

After learning that a baby was on the way, McConaughey and Alves made the decision to keep the sex of the baby a secret. The actor suggested that it would be a "wonderful surprise" to find out the sex in the delivery room.

The actor also thanked all of his fans for the many "well wishes" although he did not mention the fact that early reports had accidentally mistaken the sex of the baby.

"Bless up and thank you for your well wishes," he wrote. "Happy New year, and just keep livin, Camila and Matthew McConaughey."

McConaughey and Alves have been dating since 2006. The "Failure to Launch" actor proposed to the Brazilian model on Christmas Day 2011. The couple shares two other children, Levi Alves McConaughey, who was born on July 7, 2008 and daughter Vida Alves McConaughey, who was born Jan. 3, 2010.
