McAfee Sells Life Rights for Book and Film After Murder

John McAfee, arrested on the suspicion of murder, has sold the rights to his life story.

The once famous anti-virus software developer was taken into custody last week in Guatemala when Guatemalan officials discovered that he had entered the country illegally after fleeing Belize under the suspicion of murder. McAfee has been accused of murdering a neighbor, although he proclaims his innocence.

Now determined to have his story told, McAfee has sold the rights of his life story to Impact Future Media with the tentative title of: "Running in the Background: The True Story of John McAfee." The company announced purchase of the rights on Tuesday.

"Mr. McAfee has entrusted us with his life story, and that is a responsibility we take very seriously," Impact Future Media CEO François Garcia said in a statement. "We will work tirelessly to make certain that his story is shared with the proper industry partners."

Before murder accusations arose, it was noted that McAfee had started to act strangely. The virus software mogul had become involved with the productions of drugs with ingredients that are active in what has become known as "bath salts." He also began a blog to discuss the topic.

"I try to keep track of all the recreational products on the world market, looking for constituents that provide evidence that other people are walking down this same path," the user stuffmonger, believed to be McAfee, wrote in a post last year.

In his own statement, McAfee expressed gratitude for Impact Future, giving thanks for their "dedication to the truth."

"My most heartfelt thank you goes to Impact Future Media and CartoonMonkey Studio," McAfee said in a statement. "Their dedication to the truth is very uncommon in the world we Impact Future Media live in today. I am now, and will always be grateful to their organizations."
