Credit :

Frane Selak is a Croatian music teacher who's been dubbed the world's luckiest "unlucky" man. The unlucky part is that he's been through seven close encounters with death, which include plane, train and automobile crashes where people were killed. The lucky part is that he's survived each one, often with only light injuries.

But not every chance encounter has been a deadly one. In 2003 Selak bought his first lottery ticket in over 40 years. He ended up winning the $1.1 million jackpot.

Selak indulged in a life of luxury after his lottery win. However, he eventually gave his money and possessions away after finding they didn't fulfill him. It was an important lesson in life for the man who came so close to losing his so many times.
