Melissa Joan Hart Reveals Party Days, Drug Use

Melissa Joan Hart opened up about her past of partying and drugs use in her new book "Melissa Explains It All."

The book's title was inspired by the television show, "Clarissa Explains It All," which starred Hart from 1991-1994.

While "Melissa Explains It All" will not be available until Oct. 29, Hart provided a preview of what is in store while speaking to Life & Style this week.

Now 37 years old, Hart discussed her early career in Hollywood, including the parties and affairs with co-stars.

"I experimented with weed, Ecstasy, mushrooms and mescaline for about a year and a half," the actress divulged.

Fortunately, Hart's experimentation never led to an addiction.

"I was kind of running with a bad crowd," she told Life & Style. "I just didn't enjoy taking drugs. I don't like the loss of control."

Moreover, long before she married musician Mark Wilkerson in 2003, the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star confessed to hooking up with Nick Carter, Ryan Reynolds, and Jerry O'Connell, who she called a "man-whore."

Hart is not the only Hollywood personality to reveal a struggle with drugs, and the actress' admission comes just as Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about having "many addictions" at a younger age.

The actress took to Facebook the day after her 42nd birthday on Sept. 19 to reflect on her life.

"What I learned about myself is this, when I was younger I was not a good problem solver, meaning I had a very difficult time with dealing with my problems in life," Pinkett Smith explained.

Although she did not go into detail, the actress said she had "many addictions, of several kinds, to deal with my life issues."

However, Pinkett Smith is patting herself on the back at age 42.

"I have my wisdom, my heart and my conscience as the only tools to overcome life's inevitable obstacles," she wrote. "I have become a good problem solver with those tools, and I am damn proud."
