MercyMe's Spoken For Received RIAA Gold Certification

To add onto their RIAA (Record Industry Association of America) plantinum certified record, Almost There, Mercy Me recently received RIAA Gold certification for Spoken For, which released fall 2002, has remained in the top 20 for a full year, and currently holding #9 on the Top Current Contemporary Christian Chart.

The single “Word of God Speak,” from Spoken For, set the record for a #1 song at ten weeks on R&R Magazine’s Christian AC radio chart. The single remained at #1 for nine weeks on PDA AC radio chart and broke the record of eight standing weeks as it still remains at #1 for over 20 weeks on the CRW AC radio charts. On R&R AC, it spent 25 of its 28 weeks in the top 10 and now reaches #7. Insop radio charts also indicate the song was a #1 hit for mutiple weeks.

MercyMe was also able to top the charts with the self-titled single “Spoken For,” which went to #1 AC, #1 Inspo, and Top 10 CHR. The rush of success has also trickled down to another single “Change Inside of Me” is climbing the Christian CHR chart, currently at #5 CRW, #10 R&R, #9 PDA.

MercyMe is currently on tour with Michael W. Smith’s Celebration Tour, which kicked off October 16 and lasts until November 9. Between tour dates, they find time in the studio to work on their April 2004 release. The band was recently featured on CNN Headline News’ Entertainment segment.
