In that last game guard Shane Larkin had a difficult game and he wasn't on his best form. He made just 2 of 8 field goals, but was fortunate that the opposition was weak and his teammates were on top form. Nevertheless Larkin will be hoping to regain his form in this game and keep improving as the tournament progresses to its climax.

Durand Scott did well in the last game, scoring 21 points and leading the way for his team. Reggie Johnson also managed to grab 10 rebounds in the easy win.

Meanwhile, Illinois came through the second round after a win against Colorado Buffaloes in a 57-49 victory. The game was a messy low-scoring affair, spoiled by the large number of turnovers. The Illini also only made 30.8 percent of their field goals, with their only comfort being that Colorado were even worse.

If Illinois produce more of the same they will almost certainly be going home after this game. They will need to vastly improve to give themselves a chance against a strong Miami team tonight.
