Michelle Obama Wears Target Dress in Hawaii Twice: Costs $39.99 (PHOTO)

Michelle Obama, a known fashion icon with a practical taste for clothing, was spotted wearing and re-wearing a Target brand dress during a recent vacation to Hawaii.

The first lady was spotted wearing a pink and black arrow dress most recently on her December trip to Hawaii. The sleeveless number is a Merona creation developed exclusively for Target and at the top of the list for Obama's affordable dress collection.

During the length of the vacation, Obama was seen wearing the Merona dress twice. The first time with a high belt around her waist; the second time, Obama chose to skip on the belt and added a light, short-sleeve sweater to cover her shoulders instead.

"If the FLOTUS is cool with wearing the same dress twice on vacation, we are definitely going to start packing light," one Shine writer stated. "There's no need to cram loads of wardrobe options into an overstuffed suitcase when you can look this good over and over again in the same dress."

The First Lady also chose to recycle and a Michael Kors dress on election night. The dress made its first appearance in 2009 during a holiday party. The second appearance came in November 2010, when Michelle wore the dress while at a Medal of Honor presentation ceremony. The dress was such a hit on election night, that it became the inspiration for a holiday dress series.

British retailer Asda unveiled the newest line of holiday dresses at the end of last year under the George Brand. The first one to sell out was the "Michelle," a copycat version of the same dress that the first lady wore on election night.

Fans of the first lady called Michelle Obama an inspiration to real women.

"I think she sets a good example that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look great- that every regular woman can look great, and stay in shape, and have respect for herself and her family," one user wrote on the Shine blog.
