Miley Cyrus Lip Tattoo 'Coming Off,' Revealed As Fake

Miley Cyrus caused a stir with a tattoo on her inner lip this week, but it turns out the inking is just a temporary fixture.

On Friday, March 14, the "We Can't Stop" singer shared a photo of the yellow cat face emoji on her Instagram account, which featured a tear drop in the eye of the cat face.

"#sadkitty," Cyrus added in the caption of the photo.

The bright yellow and black inner-lip inking had Cyrus' fans wondering if the singer had added another tattoo to her already impressive collection. However, on Monday, March 17, the "Wrecking Ball" singer revealed to her Twitter followers that the "sad kitty" icon was wearing off.

"My yellow coming off," Cyrus posted along with a photo of the fading tattoo.

While many of Cyrus' fans are relieved that the yellow cat emoji tattoo was fake, the singer has plenty of other real tattoos on her body- reportedly 19 to be exact, according to the International Business Times. The former "Hannah Montana" star's inking include "Love" written in her ear, a dream catcher on her side, an anchor on her right wrist, an ohm symbol on her left wrist, a skull on her ankle, "Love Never Dies" on her arm, Roman numerals on her elbow, and seven tiny tattoos on her right hand- among others.

Cyrus is not the only singer with an obvious affinity for bodily inkings. In fact, singers such as Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovado and Ariana Grande have each revealed brand new tattoos recently.

Grande shared a photo of her new tattoo on Instagram featuring the words "mille tendresse" written on the back of her neck. The French phrase was featured on the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's and means "a thousand tendernesses."

Meanwhile, other famous tattoo enthusiasts include Rihanna, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Lil Wayne, David Beckham, and Lady Gaga, among many more.
