Miley Cyrus Rushed to Emergency Room After Knife Accident

Miley Cyrus was rushed to the emergency room on Tuesday after accidentally cutting herself while cooking dinner in her San Fernando Valley home.

"@MileyCyrusBz I'm all stitched up & have on a splint so I'm good. As you can tell by my expression, didn't feel so good. Curse u blender!" Cyrus tweeted after receiving hospital treatment.

The 19-year-old was accompanied by her mother, Tish Cyrus, and boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, as she made her way into the hospital.

"She cut her finger while cooking and had to get a few stitches," Miley's rep told "She's doing fine."

The incident follows recent speculation that the Disney star may be harming herself after pictures of her left wrist revealed a series of cuts which some say could have been self inflicted.

While a representative for the "Party in The USA" singer has denied that she has been self-mutilating, experts say that the recent photos, which were posted on social networking site Twitter, reveal what appears to be intentional wounds, according to Hollywood Life.

"Based on the picture alone, those do look like cuts. The location (on non-dominant arm, underside of forearm), the length of the cuts, the lines of the cuts, and the spacing all appear to be self-inflicted injuries," Lori Vann, Lic. Professional Counselor Supervisor in Dallas, told HL.

Another expert known as Dr. Gilda, who has been featured on, offered an explanation as to why Cyrus may be harming herself.

"It looks like she has been cutting. Why do girls do this? To take control over their lives when they feel their lives are out of control. Some women think that they deserve to bleed because they're not in control of their lives," Dr. Gilda said.

Fans of Cyrus immediately took to Twitter to express their concern after photos of her wrist cuts went viral.

"Miley Ray Cyrus, the beautiful, friendly, talented, successful, singer and actress has began to cut herself... I can't believe it," Harry Styles tweeted.

"I wanna know why miley cyrus would cut her wrists. she has a perfect life and can do anything she wants," Jeannie Detore tweeted.
