Miley Cyrus 'Shower Selfie' Ahead of MTV's EMAs Sparks Controversy

Miley Cyrus earned top awards at MTV's EMAs over the weekend, but not before she updated fans on preparing for the ceremony via Twitter on Saturday.

Infamously racy with her wardrobe, the "Wrecking Ball" singer posted a photo to Twitter from the bathroom ahead of MTV's European Music Awards.

Set to the tune of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness," Cyrus photo featured the singer from the neck up in the shower with her short hair in high pigtails.

"I got that shower time shower time selfiiiiie," the singer wrote on Nov. 10. "(A la lana del ray) #happyEMAs"

The photo taken from the shower comes as no surprise since Cyrus is notorious for sharing revealing photos on Twitter, including photos of her scant Lil Kim Halloween costume.

Afterward, Cyrus hit the red carpet at MTV's EMA's, which took place in Amsterdam this year. The former Disney star wore a barely-there short dress that featured rappers Tupac and Biggie Smalls with the words "Please Stop Violence" written on it, paired with thigh-high checkered boots.

Furthermore, the singer picked up the Best Video Award for her song "Wrecking Ball" and also took the stage to perform her hit song "We Can't Stop."

The EMA's performance followed MTV's VMAs two months ago where Cyrus' bawdy performance alongside Robin Thicke made huge waves.

Other winners at the EMA's on Saturday included Katy Perry and Justin Bieber who won Best Female and Male Artist, respectively, while Macklemore won Best New Artist.

The event also saw performances from Katy Perry, The Killers, Icona Pop, Eminem and Ellie Goulding.

Meanwhile, following Cyrus' "shower selfie," the singer took to Twitter to advise her fans on Sunday.

"Stay in school & Be kind," she posted. "Other than that, HAVE FUN."

"Go online and watch what really went down at the EMAs," she wrote.
