Milwaukee Bucks Roster, Injury News 2017: Mirza Teletović Out Indefinitely With Blood Clots in Both Lungs

Milwaukee Bucks forward Mirza Teletović will have to miss an extended period of time while he deals with a potential career-threatening condition.

On Thursday, the team announced that Teletović has been diagnosed with pulmonary emboli in both lungs and he's going to be out indefinitely. In layman's terms, that means he's dealing with blood clots in his lungs.

The condition was discovered when he consulted with the team's physicians after he experienced unusual fatigue last week. He is scheduled to begin a supervised rehabilitation following a 10-day rest period.

It's interesting to note that this isn't the first time Teletović has dealt with pulmonary emboli in both lungs. The Bosnian forward also had to sit out the final three months of the 2015 season because of the condition, but he managed to bounce back the following season.

"It's unfortunate. He's been through this once before and understanding we thought maybe we're past that, but just for what has taken place it's not about the basketball, it's about life. We hope for a speedy recovery and we'll see. Hopefully, he has a chance to come back and play," Bucks head coach Jason Kidd said, via Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

"He's one of the best in that locker room. He's a veteran and for the Bucks as an organization, we can only give support to him and his family until he's ready to make a decision on playing or not playing," he added.

Teletović already had to sit out a big chunk of the season after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, but this is a much more serious health issue.

Teletović has only played in 10 games this season. He's averaging 7.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and an assist in under 16 minutes per game. He's also shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from the three-point line.
