Mom Tells Kids to Fire BB Gun at Cars; Arrested After 60 Reports of Criminal Damage

A mom has been arrested Friday after allegedly telling her kids to fire a BB gun at parked cars in Long Island, New York.

Susan Becker, 43, of East Northport reportedly bought a BB gun for her kids and then drove her two children and another boy around telling them to shoot out at parked cars over recent weeks, police have reported.

Police moved in to arrest Becker after reports emerged of more than 60 damaged car windows in the Islandia, Hauppage and Commack areas over the past two weeks, as the mom and her kids wreaked havoc on the communities.

Authorities have confirmed that as well as the mom, Becker's 13-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter, as well as another 15-year-old boy were involved.

Becker now has been charged on multiple accounts including endangering the welfare of a child, NBC New York has reported.

Neighbors of the mom have come forward to express their shock that she had been behind the crime wave of criminal damages to vehicles in the area.

One neighbor, Susan Morelli, told NBC 4 New York: "Susan is a great mom, she's a great neighbor, she's always there to help everybody. A very all-American typical mom. I just can't say enough nice things about her because she's just such a nice person."

The neighbor added that she felt there must be some other explanation "that we don't know about," as "she just wouldn't do something like that."
