Nancy Grace DWTS: Will Age Win Over 'Young and Skinny'?

Nancy Grace has been announced as a member of the new cast on “Dancing with the Stars” and shared her worries about the “young and skinny” competition.

The “Headlines News” host will be partnered with a professional dancer on the 13th season of ABC’s hit television show. Grace appeared on television Monday during ABC’s unveiling of the new “Dancing with the Stars” cast, and afterwards expressed some concerns.

“I think my biggest fear is falling, not being able to do it,” Grace told reporters backstage at ABC Monday night.

“Look at all the competition,” she continued. “They’re young, skinny, beautiful, singers, soccer players, stars – I’m a lawyer.”

Formerly a prosecutor, Grace is best known for her self-titled nightly television show on celebrity news and current affairs. Television journalist and author, she has been linked to controversy for outspokenness on the Casey Anthony trial as well as on the kidnapping case of Elizabeth Smart.

“I’m certainly not the youngest, skinniest, prettiest,” Grace told the New York Post. “But I’ve got a lot of heart.”

51-year-old Grace is mother to twins, who she said will be with her while filming “Dancing with the Stars” in Los Angeles.

“I’ll be in mommy mode,” added Grace.

Predicting how Nancy Grace will perform on this season of the dancing competition, CP spoke with Sarah Shanholtzer-Panek, a professional dance instructor at the Center of the Arts in Peoria, Arizona.

“Dancing requires a lot of practice,” said Panek. “I know that Nancy Grace is going to continue to host her TV show. To become a good enough dancer to win would take 100 percent of her time and energy, and already I know that this isn’t going to happen.”

Panek concluded, “She won’t last long.”

On Tuesday during “Good Morning America,” Grace said she will be “willing to hear whatever the judge has to tell me,” and added that she knows very little about dancing.

Grace’s celebrity dance professional partner will be announced Wednesday morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America” at 7 A.M. EST.

Also joining the cast of the 13th season is Kim Kardashian’s brother and reality TV star, Rob Kardashian, NBA player Ron Artest, and actor David Arquette.

Former talk-show host Ricki Lake will also be dancing on the show, along with Kristin Cavallari who appeared on MTV’s “The Hills.”

Sonny and Cher’s only child, activist Chaz Bono, will also appear on “Dancing with the Stars,” along with several others.

The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” will premiere September 19.
