Natalie Portman Low-Key 31 Birthday With Father, Husband and Son

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman has celebrated her 31st birthday on Saturday. However, it was not like many other mega celeb birthday bashes often seen in Hollywood, instead it was a low key affair as the actress surrounded herself with family.

Portman spent the day with her husband, Benjamin Millepied, and one year old Aleph. They visited a Jewish Center in Los Angeles, before heading to Axe restaurant in the Venice neighborhood of LA to meet up with her father.

Portman met French ballet-dancer Millepied while filming her hit movie Black Swan. The actress and the dancer allegedly wed earlier this year, although again, everything was low key and they have not offered any public announcement of the ceremony. Portman announced her engagement to Millepied, as well as her pregnancy in December 2010.

Portman has taken time off from acting since having her son Aleph. He was born June 2011.

However, the actress is said to be returning to movies soon, and she will be seen in the Christian Bale drama Knight of Cups, as well as film Lawless. Other rumors have her reprising her role as Jane in Thor 2, which should have fans excited.

Portman's first major acting role was as an orphan taken in by a hitman in the 1994 French action film Léon. That movie garnered a cult following. However, more major success was to come when she was cast as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. She was featured in all three prequels released in 1999, 2002 and 2005. Portman previously attended Harvard University to study psychology.
