National Boss Day Celebrated Today
Each year on October 16 people across the country celebrate National Boss Day, and this year is no exception.
The occasion allows workers to show appreciation for their supervisors' hard work in a variety of different ways.
National Boss Day is often marked by employees giving a special gift to his or her boss, or by simply going to greater lengths to lessen the workload of their supervisor within the workplace.

Patricia Bays Haroski, a secretary at an insurance office in Illinois, first created the holiday. She thought up a day to honor her boss, who, in her case, was her own father.
The holiday was registered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1959 and became official in 1962, and ever since then, Oct. 16 has seen employees thank their bosses for being kind and fair.
However, the first Hallmark Cards to commemorate the occasion were not produced until 1979, but the holiday continues to grow each year.
Among the many ways to celebrate National Boss Day include simply wishing your superior a good day with a smile.
Furthermore, to impress your boss or help out in the office more effectively, wake up earlier on National Boss Day.
On Twitter, National Boss Day became a trending topic with many users sounding off about their celebrations.
"Today is National Boss Day, so I definitely would like to thank my boss," wrote Aleesha.
Justice Don Willett posted, "Deep gratitude to my 26 million bosses this National Boss' Day. It's an unfathomable privilege to serve the Lone Star State."
"It's National Boss Day and we're celebrating with lots of Bruce Springsteen music," Radio Woodstock tweeted.
Mario quipped, "National Boss Day, married fellas, don't forget to get your wives a gift."
Meanwhile, Oct. 16 also marks World Food Day, National Dictionary Day, and National Feral Cat Day.
