NeNe Leakes Dog Rescued: Real Housewives of Atlanta Star Locks Dog in Car (VIDEO)

NeNe Leakes's dog has been caught up in some drama, after NeNe admitted to accidentally locking her dog in the car.

According to reports, the Real Housewives of Atlanta reality TV star found that she had left her dog and her keys inside her car. After unsuccessfully trying to think of ways to break into her car she ended up flagging down a police officer to help her get her dog out, according to celebrity news website TMZ.

The police officer, seeing NeNe in distress, pulled over and helped her break back into her car.

Once the car doors were opened by the officer, NeNe was able to get inside to check if her dog, Playa - a yorkie - was ok.

NeNe took to social media site Twitter to confirm to fans that her dog was ok. She tweeted, "RT @BravoAndy: @NeNeLeakes glad to hear Playa is ok

NeNe Leakes is an actress best known as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as well as for her recurring role as Coach Roz on in hit TV show Glee.

She resides in Duluth, Georgia, in the suburbs of Atlanta, with her two sons, Bryson and Brentt.

Leakes is a well known advocate against domestic abuse and has written a memoir describing her own experiences with abuse.

The Glee star has also featured as a contestant on The Celebrity Apprentice 4, and she currently plays a regular role as Rocky Rhoades in the NBC comedy series The New Normal.
