At the moment the New Orleans Saints are top of the division with a 4-2 record, which means the Falcons can draw level with them if they win here today. Just behind in third are the Carolina Panthers who are on 4-3, so the Falcons would drop below them today if they drop to an even .500 on 3-3.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are also in a fierce battle in the AFC East. Three teams are tied on 4-2 right now and even the basement team, the New York Jets are only just under .500 on 3-4.

The New England Patriots, the Buffalo Bills, and the Miami Dolphins are all on 4-2, meaning if the Patriots can claim the win here today they will put some clear distance between themselves and the chasing pack. A win would put pressure on the Bills and Dolphins to continue to win to keep up with New England.

Tom Brady is having another strong season, going 153 of 233 for 1,959 yards and an impressive 13 touchdowns so far.

However, the Patriots have been a little more inconsistent than they would have hoped and they will definitely not want to drop to a third defeat of the season so far wth a loss against the Falcons today.

Earlier this week on NFL Thursday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs were left stunned as they fell to the Oakland Raiders 31-30.

The Chiefs had stretched out into a health lead either side of half time, however, the Raiders came storming back in the fourth and scored 10 unanswered points to claim a single point victory over the Chiefs.

The game was breathtaking and probably could be listed as the best game in the NFL so far this season from a neutral point of view.

Things went down to the wire, and on a fourth down with just 30 seconds to go, quarterback Derek Carr managed to connect with Jared Cook to move the Raiders up to the Chiefs' 29 yard line.

Carr's next two attempts were incomplete, and things went down to the third down. Then Jared Cook managed to grab a catch out of the air despite being blocked in by three defenders; everyone thought he had scored the touchdown, but then the drama started for real; the play was reviewed and the ball was placed at the one yard line.

With 8 seconds remaining, Michael Crabtree caught a touchdown pass, but a flag went down and OPI was ruled. There was time for just one play remaining, and the Chiefs gave away a defensive holding penalty, which allowed the one play to be repeated.

Carr got the ball to Cordarrelle Patterson but he went out of bounds and it looked like things were over. Then anther flag for a a defensive penalty against the Chiefs, and the Raiders got another lifeline.

This time Carr did hit Crabtree for a touchdown, and the resulting kick helped the Raiders stun the Chiefs by a single point and claim the shock win.
