A helicopter captured footage of SWAT team members setting up a command post at the parking lot of a nearby restaurant, and FBI and ATF agents were also at the scene of the crime to offer assistance. Local authorities believe that the incident was an isolated one, however, and will lead the investigation.

The Pathmark store has since been closed for the day as officials are arriving the scene of the shooting. NJ Transit's Old Bridge Park 7 Ride has also been closed down as the investigation continues.

The N.J. Pathmark shooting is the latest in a series of fatal gun attacks to hit the U.S. Earlier in July, a student opened fire at a Batman movie at a Colorado movie theater, killing 12 people, while just a few weeks ago a white supremacist shot down six people at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin. And only last week, a gunman killed a former co-worker outside the Empire State Building in New York City, before he was shot dead by police officers arriving at the scene.
