The Saints managed to regain sole possession of the top spot in the NFC South last week by ending the Carolina Panthers' surging run of eight straight wins. That has put the Saints on 10-3, where as the Panthers are a game behind now on 9-4.

The Panthers are playing the New York Jets in another late afternoon start today, and they will be favorites to claim the win in that match up. That means the pressure in on the Saints to ensure they get another win against the Rams in St Louis.

The Saints bounced back from their 7-34 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13 to take downs the Panthers in style last week 31-13 and they will want to maintain that momentum now to try and clinch a top seed for the playoffs.

Drew Brees was in electric form last week and he will be a vital player for them if they are to make a run in the postseason. He is 353 of 519 for 4,107 yards and 33 touchdowns. He has led the Saints to a 2nd rank in the NFL in total pass yards gained per game this season. New Orleans have been posting an average of 302.9 yards in the air per game.

Meanwhile, the Rams have had a tough few weeks, and have lost 13-23 against the San Francisco 49ers and 10-30 against the Arizona Cardinals over the past two weeks. Unless they are at their very best today they could be on target for another bad defeat today against an extremely strong Saints team.

Today's big game between the New Orleans Saints and the St Louis Rams will start at 4.25 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the Fox network or online through free live stream by clicking here.
