Nexus 7 2 Pre-Orders Now Available in UK, Release Date Set for Sept. 13

Android fans living in the U.K. can now pre-order the new Nexus 7 2 tablet.

The official release date will be on Sept. 13, which kind of gives them a longer wait than some other markets. The 16GB version will retail for £199.99 and the 32GB model will sell for £239.99 through U.K. retailers such as Currys and PC World.

The U.K. Google Play store could end up selling the tablet by that time. Other countries will also begin selling the Nexus 7 in the weeks to come.

The specs, U.S. release date, and pricing information for the Nexus 7 2 were finally confirmed at a Google press event earlier today.

The new device will be available to the masses on July 30 as customers will be able to purchase the device through Google Play and retailers such as Best Buy and Staples.

The tablet is simply branded as the new Nexus 7. Google finally spilled the beans on some of the specs that will be found on the new device.

The Nexus 7 will feature a 7.62mm thick frame, a 7-inch LCD IPS display with 1920 x 1200 resolution at 323ppi, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front shooter, dual stereo speakers, Bluetooth 4.0, and 4G LTE connectivity.

The tablet will also debut Google's latest OS Android 4.3, JellyBean which was also unveiled during the event. The display on the Nexus 7 is 1080p which makes it the first Full HD 7-inch slate. The device's virtual sound technology is also expected to be quite impressive, as it gives you a 5.1 surround sound experience by using headphones or build-in speakers.
