Nicki Minaj on Attack Reports

Hip-Hop artist Nicki Minaj is speaking out about reports that she was struck in the face by an unnamed man on Monday night.

According to TMZ, Minaj and a male companion got into an argument near the pool of the Palomar Hotel in Dallas, Texas where the two shared a room. The pair moved their squabble inside the hotel, where Minaj asked hotel staff to call the police.

The rapper followed her companion to their room, where she was allegedly struck in the face. While the assailant fled the scene, Minaj filed a police report according to TMZ.

TMZ also reported that the alleged victim told police the man involved was not her boyfriend. Minaj also refused to press charges against the man after the purported attack.

Safarre “Scaffbeezy” Samuels, Minaj’s on-stage hype-man and alleged boyfriend, has been named as the attacker in various media reports. Samuels took to his Twitter just before the incident to tell the world that he was poolside, causing some to speculate.

However, Samuels took to the social media platform to vehemently deny his involvement in the abuse of Minaj.

“For the record I would never lay a hand on ANY woman, I have all sisters and no brothers,” Samuels wrote on Wednesday. “And that’s the last I’ll say about that! God bless.”

Minaj also took to her twitter to speak about the incident.

“The media could pee on your leg and tell you it’s raining. You’d believe it,” Minaj wrote on Wednesday. “You’d believe you were an adopted Martian if TMZ told you so.”

Minaj, whose real name is Onika Maraj, suffered another ordeal earlier this month, when she was told about the violent death of her cousin on July 3.

The late 2010 release of her debut album, Pink Friday has earned platinum status, selling 1,460,600 copies to date.
