Nintendo Switch Update: On the Two Hidden Features and the Lacking Bluetooth Audio Support

Considering they barely scraped by at the end of last year, Nintendo seems to be determined to keep the attention of the gaming community on them, as they continually work to give them the best through their flagship console, the Nintendo Switch.

Recent reports have revealed that the gaming giant has released another update, and it seems that there were several features that Nintendo left the users to discover. Fortunately, fans were able to spread the word on the welcome surprise that Nintendo attended to the Switch.

Nintendo Switch OS 4.0.0 had the highlight feature of being able to capture videos in-game, and also added support for sharing the clips over social media. Although that is well and good for fans looking to share their experience on the game, some users discovered that Nintendo added another feature, which allowed support for USB connected devices, including headsets. Fans will only have to plug in the dongle for the headsets and it will trigger a volume toggle in the Switch.

Another understated feature in the Nintendo Switch OS 4.0.0 is the improvements that the activity log received. It was previously known as something that did not accurately track the activity of users in a game. If the gamers did not spend at least 5 hours playing on a title, the Switch tended to display something ambiguous, such as "played for a little while." The update thankfully fixed it up a bit. It may not be enough but it is a step in the right direction.

As big as the Nintendo Switch OS 4.0.0 update might be, fans are still clamoring for the gaming giant to include support for Bluetooth audio. Considering how the Joy-Con are wirelessly connected to the console itself, some believe that there is no reason for Nintendo to hold out on the Bluetooth feature. Hopefully, the next update that will roll around will finally have support for it.
