'Now You See Me 3' Release Date, Cast News: Isla Fisher Officially Out, Benedict Cumberbatch In?

The Four Horsemen are gearing up for their third big heist, and a popular face may just be on board to either lend them a hand or raise the stakes a notch in the upcoming movie "Now You See Me 3."

Early planning for the third act was already in the works long before the second act was even released. Variety reported that after production finished for "Now You See Me 2," Lionsgate CEO Jon Feitheimer made the announcement about a third installment during the company's conference call with analysts in regards to their quarterly earnings. This was part of the studio's strategy to focus on one of their most popular franchises to date.

The said installment is reportedly scheduled for a 2019 release and will feature a continuously growing star-studded ensemble along with its core cast members. Rumor has it that "Dr. Strange" actor Benedict Cumberbatch may be joining the pack in a yet unidentified guest appearance. Will he be playing a secret ally or a conniving foe? Will his rumored guest appearance billing afford him some lines, or will he only be seen in passing?

While not much detail is known about the upcoming movie, it has almost been confirmed that actress Isla Fisher is no longer interested in reprising her role as Henley, one of the Four Horsemen in the first installment, after her near-death experience while performing a dangerous underwater stunt.

The main cast that pulled through the second installment will be returning for the third act along with director Jon M. Chu. The script, however, will be written by up-and-coming writers Neil Widener and Gavin James, who have previously been hired to write the script for "San Andreas 2," the sequel to the earthquake disaster movie top billed by Dwayne Johnson.

More details will be coming soon as production for the upcoming movie continues.
