O.C. Crash Kills 5 Teens: Car Split in Half, Bursts Into Flames in Shocking Crash (PHOTO, VIDEO)

An O.C. crash has killed 5 teens in a tragic accident that stunned passersby as a car was split in half, according to reports.

Authorities have confirmed that the fiery crash killed five teenagers from the Irvine area. The victims have been described as three young women and two young men. The names of the victims were not immediately released but the sheriff's officials have told the Orange County Register that the names will be released later on Tuesday.

The five teens were traveling in an Infiniti sedan when the vehicle veered off the road on Monday evening, and slammed into a tree. Authorities have described that the vehicle was split in half on impact and burst into flames.

Newport Beach police spokeswoman Kathy Lowe has said that four people were thrown from the car and died immediately, and the fifth victim was partially ejected but later declared dead at a hospital.

Authorities are still conducting their investigations and the cause of the crash has not been determined yet. It is believed that authorities are trying to determine whether speed or alcohol played any factors in the tragic crash, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Officials have described though that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Newport Beach Fire Department Cpt. Glenn White has said, "It was one of the worst I've seen in my nearly 30 years."

Investigators spent about 10 hours gathering evidence from the scene, with debris found up to a quarter of a mile away from the crash site, exposing the devastating nature of the crash.
