Office 2013 Release Date for iOS Users Set for Next Spring?

The Office 2013 release date will be sometime after next March for iOS users, according to an announcement made by Microsoft's Peter Bobek at a media event in the Czech Republic this morning.

Bobek confirmed with the local website IHNED that a consumer version of the native apps will be released after March 2013.

The Verge also read a press release later on today from Microsoft's Czech Republic office that verified the news and also revealed that a business variation would go public in Dec. 2013.

However, Microsoft's Vice President of Corporate Communications Frank X. Shaw denied these claims via Twitter.

"The information shared by our Czech Republic subsidiary is not accurate. We have nothing further to share," he tweeted.

In other news, pricing for Office 365 was announced by Microsoft last month.

A single subscription for Office 365 Home Premium will cost $8.33 per month and will be billed $99.99 annually. The subscription can be accessed by up to five users and will sell in both physical and online stores across 227 markets.

This should be good enough to cover an entire household, according to Microsoft. Each sign-in with an individual account will automatically save the users settings and documents.

The Office 365 Home Premium package comes with all Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, and Publisher. The programs could be used for either Macs or PCs. Customers purchasing the package will also receive 20GB of SkyDrive storage free along with 60 minutes of Skype world calling per month.

Microsoft is also offering an Office 365 Small Business Premium package that can be used by anywhere from 1-10 employees in a small business at the same time. This also includes every Office application along with 25GB of Outlook mailbox, and 10GB of professional-grade cloud storage. This service can be purchased for $12.50 per month and will be billed $149.99 annually. Microsoft will also offer a free 30 day trial.
