Olivia Wilde Engagement Confirmed, Ring Revealed

Olivia Wilde has debuted her diamond ring days after announcing her engagement to boyfriend Jason Sudeikis over the weekend.

The engagement does not come as a surprise. The pair were first spotted together in November 2011, and then moved in together last fall.

After a long courtship, the "Saturday Night Live" star popped the question to Wilde with a large diamond ring shortly after the holidays, according to People magazine.

"They are so excited, and very, very happy," said a source close to the couple, according to the magazine.

According to the actress' representative, the ring is an antique.

Wilde received an outpouring of messages from fans on Twitter following the engagement news, for which she was grateful.

"Thanks for all the sweet congratulatory love, friends," wrote the actress to her followers. "And may I compliment your savvy use of that nifty engagement ring emoticon."

It will be the second marriage for both actors; Wilde married Italian prince Tao Ruspoli in 2003 at the age of 18 but the pair split after eight years of marriage.

Alternately, Sudeikis, whose uncle is "Cheers" actor George Wendt, was married to "30 Rock" writer Kay Cannon for six years until 2010.

According to another source at Us Weekly, Sudeikis has finally found the perfect match in Wilde.

"He finally found the one that made him want to commit," said an insider at the publication. "They've both been through it before and this has just felt right from the get go. Everyone is so happy for them."

Meanwhile, Wilde, born Olivia Cockburn, derived her stage name from the Irish author Oscar Wilde. The actress is currently working on a project in Italy.

"My favorite thing about shooting in Italy is when they bring this mid morning snack right before a nude (ish) scene," Wilde posted along with an image of carb-heavy sandwiches and pizza.

Wilde is best known for roles in films such as "Tron: Legacy" and "In Time" as well as on the television series "House."
