Orange is the New Black Season 2 Release Date: Expect Netflix Premiere in 2014 as Cast Spill News That Shooting is Already Mid-Way Through

Orange is the New Black Season 2 rumors continue to swirl with the latest news indicating that the show will have a second season release date sometime in 2014. More excitement over the Netflix hit series has been generated recently after cast and crew were seen in New York City for filming.

Cast members were seen shooting for Season 2 in Park Slope, Brooklyn as well as Astoria, Queens.

The news seems to be in line with recent comments by actress Samira Wiley, who claimed that the show is about mid-way through filming Season 2, indicating that the show would most likely be ready for Netflix fans by early-to-mid 2014.

Filming in Park Slope was recently seen being shot at the Grace United Methodist Church on Seventh Avenue and St. John's Place.

Locals reported seeing trailers for Uzo Aduba (Crazy Eyes), Deborah Rush (Carol Chapman) in the area, and actor Jason Biggs, who plays the boyfriend of Taylor Schilling's main character on the show, was seen out and about apparently for filming.

In other Orange is the New Black news, it was also recently reported by DNA Info that more than $4,000 in set equipment was stolen. A police report was filed following the incident, which took place even though a private security guard was on watch. The incident is reported to have happened in an area open to the public, and expensive cables were snagged by an opportunistic thief.

One of the show's cast members, Pablo Schreiber, who stars as corrupt prison guard George Mendez, also recently took to Twitter to post two photos giving evidence that the popular "baddie" on the show will be back for Season 2.

Schreiber isn't the only cast member who has been leaking things about the current activities of the show, and actress Dascha Polanco, who plays Dayanara Diaz, also has said, "There's a depth in the show, and instead of violence, it involves a lot of relationships that women may have in prison. More intimacy, more sexuality, more bonding, spending the moments while you are there. You have to develop these to keep on going and have a motivation," according to entertainment site, Enstarz.

She added, "Dayanara is very naive in a sense, naive but yet she's a very calm, concentrated, very focused young lady. Her surroundings affect her personality per se, and kind of bring out things of her that you wouldn't expect."

Expect Orange is the New Black Season 2 to appear exclusively on Netflix in 2014.
