OS X Mavericks Release Date Coming Next Week; Apple Begins Seeding Builds of Software
The OS X Maverick release date is expected to be next week.
The new software will be unveiled alongside the new full sized iPad and mini model at a special media event held by the company on Oct. 15.
The software made a recent appearance in a leaked screenshot that shows software that can be downloaded internally by Apple employees at this time. Mavericks appears under its codename Syrah.

Nightly builds of OS X 10.10 recently began being seeded to Apple employees for internal testing, according to 9to5 Mac. The report states that a small seeding round began in early September and it has picked up in recent days and weeks. Page views coming from computers running OS X 10.10 have increased for 9to5 Mac in the past few days proving that downloads of the software are growing.
Apple designed OS X Mavericks similarly to iOS 7 as both will feature close to the same appearance.
The software recently attained Golden Master status which is the state where it is ready to ship and be installed on new Macs. Apple moved a fair portion of its Mac software engineering resources onto 10.10.
It is expected to roll out during the last half of October. Apple has not officially confirmed its release date or price at this time.
Customers will be able to purchase and download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store. Apple is holding an earnings conference on Oct. 28. The company normally provides final release details for its new operating systems during the prepared remarks portions of these financial announcements.
