The "Most Beautiful Woman 2013" also came under fire with the release of her latest book, "It's All Good." In it Paltrow revealed a regimented diet causing many readers to accuse the actress of depriving her children of carbohydrates.

On Twitter, readers reacted to the 2013 "Most Beautiful People" list.

"People magazine named Gwyneth Paltrow the most beautiful woman in the world & it's clearly not an April Fool's joke, so I need answers," wrote Eric.

Twitter user Atman quipped, "People magazine named Gwyneth Paltrow 'Most Beautiful Woman.' Coming in at second was a glass of lukewarm milk."

"Disagree, with vigor," wrote Jasper after retweeting People magazine's announcement about Paltrow.

Scott directed his tweet to People magazine: "I want a recount."

Not everyone shared negative reactions to the news though, and Matt wrote," Gwyneth Paltrow is the most beautiful lady in the world."

Meanwhile, Paltrow has shared input on becoming People's 2013 "Most Beautiful Woman." The mom to 8-year-old Apple and 7-year-old Moses explained that her usual beauty routine is very relaxed.

"Around the house, I'm in jeans and a T-shirt, I don't really wear make-up," said the actress. "That's what they're used to."

Furthermore, Paltrow's husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is also accustomed to her laid-back appearance.

"He'll make a joke about it," explained the actress. "If I've gotten fully dressed up, he'll be like, 'Oh, wow! You're Gwyneth Paltrow!' Because he's used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair."

As for why Paltrow is sometimes gets flak from critics, the actress has been known to "name drop" during interviews, alluding to her close relationships to high-profile individuals such as Jay-Z and Beyonce.

"Beyonce and Jay- they think that I should just go do it by myself," said Paltrow speaking to Elle magazine about creating a solo album. "That I should go … in a studio and see what happens. And it it's good, do it. And if it's not, don't. So that's probably what I'll do."

Other celebrities who have gained an unfortunate negative following included Kristen Stewart, Chris Brown, Lindsay Lohan, and Anne Hathaway, according to Star magazine.
