Pickler Drummer Hurt in Crash, Kellie Requests Prayers

Kellie Pickler has taken to social media sites requesting prayers for her drummer who is in critical condition.

Gregg Lohman was severely injured during a 4-car pileup on a Kentucky interstate on Saturday minutes after a different accident left six people dead. The drummer was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he is now being treated in the intensive care unit, according to The New York Daily News.

"Yesterday, my drummer Gregg Lohman was in a horrific car accident and is currently in ICU," Pickler posted to both Facebook and Twitter on Sunday.

"Gregg is not just my drummer, he is family," the "American Idol" alum noted. "I believe in miracles and the power of prayer, so it would mean the world to me, my band, and Gregg's family if you would please keep him in your prayers."

"Thank y'all so much," concluded the singer.

Meanwhile, Pickler's manager, Larry Fitzherald, said that 36-year-old Lohman is being treated at University of Louisville Hospital, according to the Associated Press.

The drummer suffered head and neck injuries after the accident occurred in the southbound lanes, just 15 minutes after a serious crash involving a tractor-trailer and an SUV had occurred on the northbound side of the highway.

Six people from Wisconsin were killed when the tractor-trailer rear-ended their SUV on Saturday morning, according to AP.

The cause of both crashes is unknown, but distracted driving is among the suspected reasons, Daily Mail reported.

As Pickler copes with the horrifying news of her drummer's crash, she has not confirmed if she will still appear on ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" during the season premiere on Monday. The singer is slated to compete on the television series alongside Derek Hough this year.

Pickler's request for prayers regarding Lohman is the latest display of love and support for those she holds dear; last year, the country music star shaved off her signature blonde locks in order to boost breast cancer awareness and support her childhood friend, Summer Miller, who was diagnosed with the disease.
