The Penguins made some mistakes in the first period in Game 4, allowing Ottawa to go 2-1 up after 20 minutes. However, the second period saw the Penguins come back well to lead 3-2 at the start of the third period.

Pittsburgh got an early power play in the third period, with Sergei Gonchar receiving a penalty for high-sticking. The man advantage opened the way for the Penguins to show what they are made of, and they quickly went 4-2 up.

The Senators continued to try fighting but they were quickly worn down and just over five minutes later things went from bad to worse for Ottawa.

Pascal Dupuis scored a short-handed goal for a 5-2 lead, and then Crosby sent fans into raptures with a goal 30 seconds later to make it 6-2.

There was no coming back from that position for the Senators, and the game ended 7-3. Ottawa will have to get their heads back up and perform tonight if they don't want their season to be over.
